Welcome Home

It was raining hard this morning. Now, three hours later, the rain has eased up, my new, potted tomato plants well watered. The  intervening three hours proved to be special ones because Kornelia, my housemate and muse, newly returned from Kauai, Hawaii after a month’s absence, and I had to play catch-up first of all, starting our day as we most always have done, sharing our experiences and their implications for the rich, wonderful lives we’re already living. Kornelia had made some important contacts that bode well for her business future and she was able to spend some special time with Brian, her partner, during the closing days of her island visit. She surprised me with a beautiful Hawaiian shirt and treated me to a presentation of the two colorful dresses she had purchased for herself, modeling each one in turn, much to my delight. They were absolutely the right dresses for her, especially as seen against her tanned skin. In her caregiver role, she has just reminded me of the importance of getting back to our Keto diet, ridding our bodies of their addiction to sugar with a follow-up video on the subject, another one in a growing body of info on the sugar problem. With my upcoming visit to Sitka for two weeks, maintaining a pure Keto intake will be impossible but I might come close to matching the Paleo diet which, if I recall, allows fruit and low-carb intake. So good that Kornelia is back, I find myself thinking, such a lively and enjoyable companion for me, sunshine on a rainy day. We agreed not to think about the future, as a matter of principle, just taking one day at a time, living each moment as fully as we can.

It’s been fun welcoming Kornelia home. It’s been fun as well, welcoming viewers to my website now that I’m getting my books online and available for purchase. Suman, my webmaster, who resides in India, has been a big help in getting me set-up. In fact when I’m through journaling this morning, I will start providing him with the next book segment which deals with reader’s comments. Originally, I wasn’t certain that comments praising the books were called for but I now believe they’re essential. In fact, I’m wondering now if there isn’t a way to let the onsite visitor read a few pages from each book. If anyone reading my journal today has time to look at my section on “Books” and give me their reaction, I’d appreciate it. Am I on the right track?

My master bedroom/study has lightened up suddenly and I realize the sun is trying to break through. This gives me a good opportunity to get my walk in by walking across the bridge to LaConner and down the town’s boardwalk to the Waterfront Cafe where I’ll meet as I always do with the “Thursday Guys”. Now that the Tulip Festival is over, the Cafe should be less crowded. The walk takes about a half hour each way which is just about right. This reminds me that I recently reassembled my Aero Pilates exercise machine and tried it out in earnest this morning with great results, the main result being the aerobic benefit I gained – while on my back! This is going to be an excellent way to get the cardio workout I’ve wanted for some time. I’m actually excited:  my $150 investment on E-Bay is paying off.
